Production & Maintenance Technician

What does the role require? 

We’re looking for someone who will thrive in a ‘hands-on’ operational role and enjoy working as part of our friendly, dedicated team in a revolutionary electronics and engineering environment. You’ll have sound IT skills, together with a practical, positive, ‘can do’ attitude and a real desire to learn. We welcome applications from anyone of any age who fits the bill in terms of skills, knowledge and outlook and we encourage applications from both entry level and experienced candidates. A genuine interest in the operation of the railway infrastructure would be beneficial too.

What you’ll do:

  • Service and maintain our customers products (both electrical and mechanical aspects involved).
  • Perform precision calibration and make adjustments using testing instruments.
  • Test returned PCB’s and apply modifications and repairs, where required.
  • Support in data gathering during the testing and debugging of devices.
  • Support the Engineering Manager in their day-to-day work e.g. Tool storage and management, ordering and specifying of consumables.
  • Ensure all work orders are performed according to standard operating procedures.
  • Carry out final quality and exit checks on products, performing adjustments for any defects to ensure high quality products.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area, adhering to all HSQE policies, procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Maintain servicing trackers, asset registers and software in relation to the products.
  • Monitor warehouse supplies and stock orders.
  • Help clients manage and troubleshoot their deployed devices (on-call, troubleshooting issues).
  • Receive and organise deliveries and returns of devices due for servicing or repairs.
  • Support in the general logistics and warehouse management.
  • Assist the Operations team with customer and product management.
  • Cover on-call duties, as required by the departmental on-call rota.

What you’ll bring:

  • Excellent IT skills (Microsoft 365) and an affinity with technology (learning new systems)
  • Demonstrable practical competence and/or experience in electrical and/or engineering tasks
  • A natural, problem-solving, analytical mind
  • Able to focus on meeting critical timelines & targets
  • Committed team player, who can also work confidently on their own
  • Willing to occasionally travel and stay overnight (possibly overseas)
  • Willing to travel to different Dual Inventive sites
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Right to legally live and work in the UK
  • A suitable Electrical/Electronic Engineering qualification (ONC/HNC/BTEC) is desirable, but not essential
