Embedded Software Tester

32 – 40 hours a week – Oisterwijk

We are looking for candidates with relevant experience who are enthusiastic about embracing a  new challenge. You will want to immerse yourself in an environment that encompasses the entire IoT ecosystem, from physical products to cloud applications.  

Together with your colleagues, you’ll be responsible for testing all elements in the chain, focusing particularly on testing and coordinating of physical products (embedded software and hardware) and their coordinating . You will thrive in a dynamic environment, sharing your test results daily with colleagues from different departments providing guidance to ensure issues are resolved quickly. 

What are you going to do?

We follow the Scrum methodology and start each day with a stand-up meeting. As a member of the Quality Assurance team, you will play an essential role in ensuring our products meet the relevant quality standards. Together with our Test Engineers, you will be responsible for all test activities within the development process. While they concentrate on test automation, you will focus on functional system testing (firmware and hardware), both in-house and in the field (on track). 

Additionally, your days will be filled with: 

  • Creating and maintaining new test criteria and test cases and simulations. 
  • Setting up and maintaining test environments. 
  • Testing new embedded software and hardware developments to verify and validate the functionality, safety and results.  
  • Analysing the test results and discussing them with the development team. 
  • Liaising with test facilities for EMC, shock and vibration, and environmental testing. 
  • Coordinating physical tests on the railway and at test facilities, both domestically and internationally, alongside your colleagues. 
  • Advising our support and production departments on customer complaints.

What do we offer?

  • Ability to work between 32 and 40 hours.

What do we ask of you? 

  • A completed Higher Education degree (Embedded Software/Electrical Engineering or similar), 
  • Experience in a similar role within a high-tech production environment. 
  • Preferably a certificate in Quality Assurance (ISTQB, TMAP, or equivalent). 
  • Preferably, knowledge of functional safety standards (61508, 50126, 50128/50716) and data communication. 
  • Additionally, you are analytical, curious, and solution-oriented. 
  • You also have knowledge of software or are willing to learn. 
  • You are willing to work in the office at least 3 to 4 days a week and are flexible to occasionally travel abroad (within Europe). 
  • You must be able to speak and write fluent English, and Dutch.
