Second Line Support Analyst

Who are we looking for?

Dual Inventive specialises in the use of technology in the railway, with the safety of workers in the rail industry being our main focus. We have an exciting new opportunity for an enthusiastic Second Line Support Analyst to join our growing team.

This permanent position would be well suited to an individual looking to take the next step in their career, enabling them to gain hands on experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.

As a Second Line Support Analyst, your focus will be on solving problems that need an in-depth and intimate understanding of our products and services. You will be responsible for handling escalations from our first line support. It is important that you are able to identify problems and patterns quickly and efficiently, by performing thorough investigation work.

Based at our Doncaster office and working closely with our Netherlands based Technology Centre, you will provide direct support to our UK and later, international, operations teams, ensuring that we provide successful deliveries and a quality service to our customer.

A good understanding of technology is essential in this role. A basic understanding of the rail industry would be helpful, but not essential.

Your responsibilities as a Second Line Support Analyst will be:
  • To provide exceptional Service Support and Customer Service to our clients, via our ticket system, email and telephone
  • Analysing problems by interpreting server logs, sensor data, geographical information and (mobile) data transfer information
  • Providing solutions and work-arounds to respond to incidents and problems
  • Working to SLA targets for incidents, requests and problems
  • Prioritising and managing your own workload effectively
  • Managing several open incidents/problems simultaneously
  • Performing systems & performance monitoring
  • Analysing and identifying trends in product issues and communicating these with the product-owner
The requirements are:
  • A technology background, ideally with at least 2 years of experience supporting IoT products
  • A relevant bachelor’s degree or NVQ qualification, including practical experience
  • Experience working in a Customer Service role
  • Ability to work under pressure, to a high standard to meet targets
  • Affinity with technology (learning new systems)
  • Problem-solving mindset
  • Strong communicator, with good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
  • UK resident, preferably living in the area of South Yorkshire
  • Willing to travel
  • Willing to, on occasion, work evening/night shifts and at weekends
  • Full, clean driving license
